Filipino vlogger and influencer Viy Cortez is in hot water after sharing a screenshot of a private message sent a year ago by BINI member Gwen Apuli.
“Wahhhh ily kidlat! [emojis],” Gwen’s message read.
The message, sent in May 2023, expressed Gwen's amusement with Cortez's son Kidlat. However, it's the timing of the post that has netizens riled up.
Cortez captioned the post, “ily din bini_gwen [emojis] sorry at now ko lang ito nakita [emojis].”
Many netizens slammed the move as a potential ploy to gain attention, calling Cortez a "clout chaser."
They speculated that Cortez ignored the message then and only noticing it now that the P-pop girl group is growing popular.
Cortez has since deleted the screenshot she posted and issued an apology, claiming she only recently saw the message after following BINI on social media.
“Sorry guys kung now ko lang po ito nakita. Wala ako intensyon na di mamansin. Sadyang nung finollow ko po sila saka ko lang po nakita ang mga message [emoji]. Ganon po sa IG (Instagram) di mo makikita agad ang nag-message,” Cortez explained.
“Guys di po talaga ako natingin sa IG na [message] nung [finollow] ko po sila lahat nakita ko ito,” she added.
