The supposedly fun celebration at BTS' Festa has taken a serious turn, with a fan facing potential charges under South Korea's Sexual Violence Punishment Act.
The fan, who allegedly violated BTS member Jin's personal space by kissing him on the neck during a hug event on Thursday, June 13, is now under investigation by Seoul Songpa Police Station.
The news comes after a complaint filed through the National Petition System highlighted the incident.
This act of alleged assault has cast a shadow over the celebratory event and sparked outrage among fans.
Jin, the eldest member of BTS, recently returned to the group after completing his mandatory military service.
The Festa event marked his first in-person interaction with fans since his return.
Only 1,000 lucky participants, chosen through a lottery, received the chance to meet Jin.
