Filipino actor Joao Constancia's heart ached for miles this Father's Day.
In a recent interview with PEP PH, the Kapamilya star couldn't hold back tears when the topic turned to celebrating the special occasion.
Constancia, currently based in the Philippines to pursue his acting career, revealed his entire family, including his father John, a dedicated nurse, resides in Macau.
“Ako lang po kasi mag-isa rito, my whole family is in Macau,” he said while wiping his tears as the distance proved a heavy weight on his shoulders as Father’s Day approached.
Talking about the lesson he learned from this setup, Constancia shared, “When it comes to family talaga, it’s something special and close to me because right now, being by myself here in the Philippines teaches me how important [it] is talaga to be with your family, you know."
“When it comes [to] my father, he’s one of the most giving [people] in my whole life,” he added.
“He’s been supportive [of] all of my dreams and stuff at iyon lang.
“The most important lesson I’ve learned from my dad is to be grateful [for] the simple things in life 'cause we’re not here every day."
Through his tears, Joao offered a heartfelt message to everyone fortunate enough to have their parents by their side, “We don’t know when we’ll, you know, disappear from this earth but just be grateful with everything talaga sa buhay mo. It could be just your friends, your family, you know, just be with them.”
The interview concluded with a raw and emotional, "Mom, Dad, I miss you guys!"
