Members Maloi Ricalde and Colet Vergara of the rising P-pop girl group BINI graced the stage as graduating students at the Japan Philippine Institute of Technology in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan on Friday, June 7.
The official BINI account on X (formerly Twitter) congratulated the graduates with a playful caption, underlining their ability to balance work and academics.
“Born to win, and born to slay sa school! Baka [@bini_maloi] and [@bini_colet] yern?” the caption read.
Maloi and Colet, both under the Humanities and Social Sciences strand, were recognized for their well-roundedness, receiving special citations for arts, media, and entertainment.
While details about their future academic plans haven’t been made official, in an interview with ABS-CBN News, Maloi expressed interest in pursuing a degree in multimedia arts or fine arts. Meanwhile, Colet is leaning towards a career in the medical field, considering options like dentistry or pharmacy.
In a message to fellow students, the members emphasized the importance of perseverance, echoing a line from their hit song "Karera."
"There's a lot of pressure in the world," Maloi added, "but remember, buhay ay 'di karera.”
Maloi further shared her appreciation for "Karera" being chosen as their batch graduation song, stating, “Ito yung nae-envision namin for karera – na maging anthem siya, maging inspirational siya.”
The eight-member group has been steadily gaining recognition in the Philippine music industry. On June 6, BINI’s official YouTube and Facebook accounts reached 1 million followers.
Looking ahead, the group is set to hold their highly anticipated first-ever solo concert, a sold-out three-day show "BINIverse," happening from June 28 to 30.
