Are you one of those people who smiles because of John’s videos?
It took John more than two years to reach the peak of his success as an online content creator. John did not expect that simply wanting to share his kilig would bring him fame.
“Syempre ‘yung feeling ko parang, ‘is this real?’ ‘totoo ba?’ I was in cloud nine at that time kasi my idea was, no’ng third episode na no’n [Omegle Series], my idea was just to send kilig feelings sa lahat ng tao. Lagi ko kasing iniisip at that time no’ng ginagawa ko na yung Omegle, ‘oh they’re gonna love this.’ While I was editing iniisip ko yung magiging reaction nila, kasi kailangan ‘yung reaction ko, ‘yun dapat maging reaction ng mga nanonood. I was happy kasi na-achieve ko naman, I was really happy.”
But despite his fame, John remains humble. For him, making his viewers happy is enough.
“Never pumasok sa utak ko ‘yung word na ‘famous,’ siguro ano ‘kilala’ ganyan, ‘napanood,’ pero hindi ko kasi siya nilalagay sa utak ko as famous. I’m just really happy na nakakapagpasaya ako ng tao kasi I’ve been receiving a lot of messages, comments, na sa mga time na down sila I was able to put a smile on their faces. Kaya nga lagi ko sinasabi, ‘andito na naman ako para magbigay ng ngiti sa inyong mga labi.’ I’m so grateful na ganun ‘yung impact ko sa ibang tao and I feel like that’s my purpose, to put a smile on people’s faces.”
Aside from making his fans happy, John's heart is full because of another love – his long-term Filipino boyfriend of more than ten years.
“Pinoy siya, he’s purong Pinoy from Bataan. Nagsimula kami online dating, and then actually ako ‘yung unang nangulit… After no’n hindi ko na siya pinakawalan, kasi one year pa lang ako sa America no’n and then nag-birthday ako, after ng mga couple of weeks no’n nakilala ko siya, and then ni-lock ko na ganun.”
John's beauty is truly exceptional, and he has fans from all over the world.
“Meron one time, nasa club ako, tapos may nagsabi, ‘Are you John?,’ so chika chika ako, ‘Yes, oh manood kayo ng new video ko later, maloloka kayo sa mga afam.’ Tapos maya-maya sabi, “Oh no no sorry, we don’t understand, were Thai.’”
